We highly recommend, as do our heater manufacturers, a professional annual maintenance service to help maintain your heater’s warranty and to prevent any unplanned downtime from unexpected equipment failure.
However, there are a few tips we RECOMMEND between services
- Clear any debris or leaves from the top and around the heater, spray for bugs and cockroaches regularly
- Inspect periodically to check for any leaks, cracks, or other signs of damage that may affect its performance.
- High chlorine levels can cause corrosion. Mineral buildup inside the heat exchanger, which restricts water flow, and increased water acidity levels cause deterioration and perforation of copper heat exchanger tubes. So, if you notice some staining, you should definitely ask your pool maintenance company to check your water chemistry and make sure it is properly balanced.
